AOL Desktop Gold had no advantage additional cost. If your current Advantage plan includes Desktop Gold, all usernames on your account can download and install the software by visiting your My Benefits page.

While the Gold looks and functions similar to the original AOL Desktop, it lacks some of the latter's core features, most notably AOL Instant Messenger, which was discontinued by the company in late 2017.
